The second workshop of “ Anthelmintic control and its consequences on the health of populations ”


The second workshop of “Anthelmintic control and its consequences on the health of populations” (RELACS) was held at the Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné, from 23 to 27 February 2015 under the topic “Atopy and helminths”. Its aim was to teach up-to-date methods (Skin prick test, serology, epidemiological methods, etc) to diagnose allergic reactions.

Participants from Cotonou (Benin), Bamako (Mali), Accra (Ghana), and Libreville (Gabon) have learned how to to diagnose allergy and helminths. In addition, they were updated on the latest scientific knowledge on the subject by invited expert Professor Maria Yazdanbakhsh from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

All staff of CERMEL including its Director, Prof. Peter Kremsner, was mobilized for the success of this workshop. Learners and experts left satisfied with their stay in Lambaréné, and highly motivated to apply the knowledge gained in their respective home institutions.
